Summary
Ichiko and Kuran are the two sole members of their school's subculture research club. This is both out of genuine interest in obscure countercultures, but also a pretext for them to hang out, watch movies and play games.
Luckily, their school doesn't seem to care much about that little haven they've built for themselves. And even when it eventually does and their club is threatened with dissolution, they're still going to prove their club's relevancy... by helping the school's other niche clubs stay afloat. After all, nothing's gonna stop them from spending their days being weird, together, and discoursing on a myriad of subculture topics.

Ooooh, this one is fun. I don't have that much to say about it - I just really like its two main characters, bubbly Ichiko who's easily roped into everything and taciturn Kuran who has clear-cut opinions on a lot of subculture stuff. They're simple, but they really work, and have some delightful chemistry together.
I mean, there's this obvious lesbian background radiation to their general sense of intimacy together; but it becomes particularly clear in a few near-wordless chapters, which are clearly my favorites of the entire series. They're also good standalone chapters deserving a read if only for their atmosphere, so if anything, here you go.
These kinds of restful chapters make for a nice change of pace between two unhinged subculture-focused chapters, which are the actual bread and butter of the series. The topics that our leads explore are often really niche and sometimes nigh-untranslatable, but also quite interesting. You have an entire chapter on sneakers collection for instance, and overall some prime material for out-of-context yuri.
So, yeah. If you need a slice of life yuri diving deep into niche topics and getting into pointless debates within those topics, this may be to your taste1. The series also gets additional points for giving me big neurodivergent vibes. I'll leave you with this:

if you prefer something less unhinged, I'd redirect you to Gal x Gal Yuri. If you prefer something more unhinged, I'd redirect you to Shimeji Simulation. You win either way.↩
